Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation

| Print |

Fr. Lawrence Ebuk, a priest of the St. Paul’s Missionary Society has been appointed Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation.

Fr. Lawrence has been parish priest of Sacred Heart Parish Tivoli since 2005. Over the years his constant concern has been trying to find ways to encourage lapsed Catholics to return to the practice of their faith. In the first half of this year after much discussion in the Parish Pastoral Council, a programme of visitation was undertaken by the parishioners. This culminated in a special “Homecoming Mass” which was very well attended.

Fr. Lawrence sees this kind of activity as a template for a possible programme of evangelisation. He is also acutely aware of the need to have an active hospitality ministry and of ministering to the sick as part of an overall ministry of evangelisation.
